Gravity die casting (permanent mold casting) for aluminium and zinc parts with lower porosity and heat-treatable alloys.
Gravity casting pours molten metal into a permanent metal mold under gravity (no applied pressure). This produces denser parts with better metallurgical integrity and less porosity than high-pressure die casting — important for pressure-tight or structurally critical applications.
It is commonly used for automotive structural parts, hydraulic components, pump bodies, and safety-critical parts where integrity is paramount. Because a permanent metal mold must be manufactured, the minimum order quantity is typically 100 pieces.
Gravity fill reduces turbulence and trapped gas — critical for pressure-tight and structural parts.
Gravity cast A356 aluminium can be T6 heat treated for significantly higher strength.
Permanent mold tooling costs less than HPDC dies, with shorter lead time.
